The Employment Transformation Collective (ETC) from Northwest Center is looking for an Accessibility Partner to join our team!
As an Accessibility Partner, you will be providing sighted assistance to Software Engineer in the technology field. You will partner with the person to anticipate and mitigate barriers and obstacles in the workplace and during the workday. We are looking for someone who is tech-savvy with a strong administrative skillset, familiarity with coding, and a dedication to continued education toward disability allyship and ensuring an equitable workplace.
About ETC and the AP Service
The ETC is a new B2B offering from Northwest Center. The ETC provides businesses with the professional services necessary to create anti-ableist workplaces where all employees can thrive. This includes assessment, consulting, training, and coaching, and our flagship offering: Accessibility Partners Service (AP).
The AP Service enables employers to accommodate disabled employees and dismantle barriers to equity. APs provide virtual or in-person workplace support to employees with a range of disability, from vision loss to mobility impairment. APs partner with clients with disabilities by mitigating and circumventing technological and physical barriers to equity.
The ETC and AP Services remove the burden of workplace transformation and accommodation implementation from the disabled employee. Be a part of something new, exciting, and long overdue!

Accessibility Partner:
Starting Wage Range: $29.16 - $32.40 per hour | Full Wage Range: $29.16 - $35.64 per hour
Location: Redmond, WA
(Hybrid-Remote)
Schedule: M-F: 8am - 4:30pm

Job Duties:
- Seeking to understand the ways to best partner with and empower the employee through relationship building
- Clearly and professionally communicating visual cues and rendering visual descriptions to the employee as appropriate
- Creating and reformatting all documents into an accessible format as needed
- Maintaining and supporting an electronic document filing system
- Supporting in daily key tasks such as taking notes, administrative tasks that may be inaccessible, building visual images or graphics, interpreting visual cues such as body language and facial expressions, as well as creating presentations, in-person or virtual
- Proactively working to anticipate and address barriers and reprioritizing tasks based on the needs of the employee
- Growing your knowledge of support practices and skills on digital and physical accessibility tools through participation in self-research, learning different strategies, workshops, professional meetings, networking, and reading current literature in the field of accessibility
Qualifications:
- One or more years of experience working in direct service, disability-focused human services field preferred
- Experience working with people who are visually impaired or blind preferred
- Familiarity with Project management software such as Jira, Asana, and Azure preferred
- Understanding of FIGMA and web design tools preferred
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot preferred
- High attention to detail
- Tech-savvy with an in-depth understanding of various platforms and office software such as MS Office or Google Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information, including sensitive human resources situations
- Although not required, we encourage candidates to highlight any experience related to administrative/executive assistance, experience with accessibility tools and software, and/or knowledge of programming languages
