Seqirus today is a global vaccines leader with one of the broadest influenza vaccine portfolios, and a growing suite of vaccine technologies for COVID-19 and other respiratory pathogens.CSL Vifor is a strong and rapidly growing presence in nephrology and is committed to launching the next generation of therapies to address the full spectrum of kidney disease, with a focus on dialysis and rare disease. This is supported by their founding heritage and expertise in iron deficiency therapy, helping to support a broad range of patients in need.RESPONSIBILITIESThe Global Head of Behring Communications will lead the strategic development and execution of all internal and external communications for Behring. This senior leadership role is responsible for enhancing the company's reputation, engaging key stakeholders, and ensuring consistent, impactful messaging across all communication channels. The successful candidate will work closely with communications counterparts in other business units within the CSL group to ensure alignment and synergy. They will also oversee a global team of communications professionals supporting the CSL Behring Business Unit and report to the Head / CSL Behring/CSL Vifor CEA BP.The person in this role will be expected to put patients and plasma donors at the forefront of our vision for delivering value to address unmet medical needs. This role will be responsible for the following:Strategic Leadership:• Develop and implement a comprehensive global communications strategy aligned with Behring's business objectives and values and that builds and maintains our reputation and maximizes the external impact of our stakeholder engagement.• Lead and manage a high-performing global communications team, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination across regions.• Provide thought leadership on communication trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the company's communication efforts.Delivering the CEA Plan:• Play a critical role in delivering the group's Corporate and External Affairs (CEA) plan, ensuring alignment with the business units objectives.• Drive the companys reputation in a way that is bespoke and tailored to the audiences of this business unit but ladders up to telling one cohesive group story and narrative.Brand and Reputation Management:Working with the Reputation and Brand Center of Excellence:• Oversee the development and management of the company's brand, ensuring consistency and integrity across all platforms.• Proactively manage the company's reputation through strategic media relations, crisis communication, and issues management.• Monitor and analyze media coverage, public sentiment, and industry trends to inform communication strategies and actions.External Communications:• Develop and execute proactive media relations strategies to enhance the company's visibility and influence in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.• Oversee the creation and dissemination of press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to ensure accurate and compelling messaging.• Oversee the creation of content to support CSL Behrings Policy, Advocacy Government Affairs (PAGA) team in its external engagement with governments, advocacy groups, and other public affairs stakeholders.Internal Communications:• Develop and implement internal communication strategies to engage, inform, and inspire employees across the organization.• Oversee the production of internal newsletters, intranet content, and other communication tools to ensure alignment with company goals and culture, working closely with CEAs Head of global Internal Engagement.• Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration by promoting transparent, two-way communication channels.Stakeholder Engagement:• Build and nurture relationships with critical, Behring-specific key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and community organizations.• Develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans to ensure alignment and support for the company's strategic objectives.• Represent the company at industry conferences, public forums, and other events to enhance stakeholder relationships and promote the company's mission.Patient Community Engagement:• Develop and implement strategies to engage with the patient community on Communications initiatives, understanding their needs, concerns, and perspectives.• Foster partnerships with patient advocacy organizations to ensure patient voices are heard and integrated into company initiatives.• Facilitate patient input into communication strategies and messaging to build trust and transparency.Collaboration Across Business Units:• Work closely with communications counterparts in other business units and across CSL to ensure alignment and synergy in communication efforts.• Share best practices and coordinate on group-wide communication initiatives to enhance overall impact.Content Development and Management:• Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various communication channels, including the Behring critical elements on groups website, and social media, public engagement materials.• Ensure that all content is accurate, evidence-based, engaging, and aligned with the company's brand and messaging guidelines.• Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts and continuously optimize content strategies.Crisis Communication:• Working with the Reputation and Brand Center of Excellence:• Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate potential reputational risks.• Serve as the primary spokesperson as warranted during crises, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely communication to all stakeholders.• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a unified and strategic response to crises and other high-stakes situations.Team Leadership:• Lead team of Communications professionals that support the Operations/Access, Business Operations and Commercial Development (ABC) organizations; the CSL Plasma organization; and that provide regional communications support for the CSLB US and CSLB International commercial regions.• Ensure consistent messaging and alignment with overall company strategy.• Ensure effective collaboration within the Communications team and across the CSLB/CSLV CEA BP team, driving output and outcomes that advance the goals of the BP team.Advisory Role:• Provide strategic communication insights and guidance to support business objectives and enhance internal and external communication efforts.Active Participation in Communicator Community:• Be an active part of the group's wider Communicator community, shaping and inputting into how Behring shows up to external and internal audiences.• Share knowledge and insights with peers across the group to build strong communication capabilities.• Participate in group-wide initiatives to enhance communication practices and standards across Corporate and External Affairs.QUALIFICATIONS:• Advanced degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.• Minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.• Proven track record of developing and executing successful global communication strategies.• Deep understanding of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical regulatory environment and industry trends.• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading diverse, geographically dispersed teams.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for a variety of audiences.• Ability to think strategically and analytically, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.• High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity and transparency.Our BenefitsCSL employees that work at least 30 hours per week are eligible for benefits effective day 1.
