SummaryThe CRT Operator will be responsible for the following tasks during CRT Operations: To conduct any and all applicable safety meetings with all personnel attending task at hand. Conduct pre job checks of equipment and accountability. Coordinate, and be responsible for accounting and staging out all equipment for departure. Supervise and attend rig up activities, CRT running operations, CRT rig down operations.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
- Responsible for packing/unpacking, connecting/disconnecting, inspecting, monitoring, testing, and operating all equipment at the jobsite.
- Must be effective at communicating with driller and company rep. during CRT operations.
- In the absence of CAM Equipment, the Casing Technician is responsible for ensuring the correct make-up of tubulars during the duration of the job.
- Must be capable of supervising the hours of work and duties of crews.
- Will receive appropriate training to appraise them of relevant/updated legislation, company policies, standards, and procedures.
- Attend the regular company required safety meetings.
- Recommend measures to improve procedures, equipment performance, quality of services, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of services or work crew.
- Keep his work area clear of trip hazards and perform housekeeping chores to keep his
- work area and equipment clean of mud and drilling fluids.
- Report any unsafe practices, conditions, and/or damage to the environment to the Immediate Supervisor, Contractor, and Customer.
- Raise any concerns or problems that emerge between the crew and/or customer with the Immediate Supervisor.
- Seek ways to eliminate unsafe practices, conditions, and avoid damage to the environment.
- Assist and at times provides employee development and training with feedback to crew pusher/management on the progress and level of personnel competency.
- Serves as onsite safety representative who will follow and ensure that all other personnel onsite will conduct operations in accordance with Company’s and customer HSE procedures and policies.
- Learn and become conversant with all Company’s philosophies, policies, and procedures including safety, quality, operational, and environmental training.
- Due to the safety sensitive nature of this job, you are required to perform this job in a constant state of alertness.
- Other duties as directed.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
- PREFERRED skill sets include: Floor Hand, Torque Turn (CAM), CRT, Tong Operator, Crew Pusher, or previous oil & gas rig experience.
- PREFERRED: live within 50 miles of the company’s location and have reliable transportation.
- Available and reliable to report for work at all times when not on approved days off as this is a 24/7/365 on-call position.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Drilling related operations experience preferred.
- Valid personal identification documents.
- Available to report to work within tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
- Ability to meet physical demands of job position.
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment screening (ie background, drug/alcohol, physical).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.
- Requires occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and exertion of force up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to see objects close, afar, and use peripheral vision is required.
- Ability to hear and take verbal direction over loud ambient noises is imperative for the safe execution of job duties. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noises.
- Works outdoors: regularly subject to cold, warm, wet or humid conditions resulting from weather or other various conditions.
- Regularly work in high, precarious places or near fumes / air borne particles.
