Research Engineer I (Game Design/VR Programming)

The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Engineer to design and develop an immersive VR experience for promoting mutual understanding and fostering social cohesion between in/outgroups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and create an immersive VR experience (IVE) and 3D environments

  • Develop gamified interactive experience for user studies

  • Suggest potential improvement of features to make IVE more engaging, interactive and immersive

  • Collaborate with other researchers in a multidisciplinary team who will provide academic input

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field from reputable universities

  • Basic understanding of 3D model asset management

  • Previous experiences in VR/AR content development and/or specific understanding of VR/AR

  • Experience in developing using Unity or similar game engines

  • Writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code

  • Candidates with at least 2 years experience in similar role
