Nursa is a healthcare platform that directly addresses the severe staffing challenges confronting the U.S. healthcare system by connecting qualified registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) seeking flexible work with facilities in need of help. Founded in 2019, we are a growing venture backed startup whose mission is to put a nurse at the bedside of every patient in need. With your help, we will be able to enrich the lives of nurses and be a valued partner in delivering effective, compassionate patient care in every market we serve.
Role overview:
As a Sr. Director of Developer Experience, you will report directly to our VP of Engineering and lead a team of 12 people responsible for five functions: Database Optimization, Test Automation, Dev Enablement (i.e. DevOps), Security, and IT. Today there are two managers on this team; you will play a role in helping to shape the future team structure.
The Developer Experience team has responsibility for enabling smooth operations and optimizing processes within Engineering, all with a focus on enabling continuous delivery of value to our customers. In this role, you have a pronounced opportunity for impact as we move toward an improved architecture, improve cross-functional collaboration and ownership mentality, and work to eliminate bottlenecks across Product and Engineering.
This is a headquarter-based role in Murray, Utah with the expectation of in-office attendance at least three days per week. The Developer Experience team is an internationally distributed team, and you will be expected to be available starting at 8am MT, and occasionally earlier based on needs.
Responsibilities:
Lead the distributed Developer Experience team to continue to ensure smooth operations and follow through on critical daily work: database management (including an in-progress migration), infrastructure management, CI/CD management, and regression testing cycle.
Foster innovation within Developer Experience and all Engineering; enlist help of the broader Engineering team to identify and act upon opportunities to improve practices and processes. Scope includes but is not limited to CI/CD, incident response, testing practices, and architecture evolution.
Iterate on Nursa’s security program and posture. Leveraging the expertise of the Security Engineer, lead an implementation that is customized to Nursa’s needs today with plans to scale as the business grows.
Alongside your peers on the Tech Leadership team, contribute to the strengthening of our Engineering culture and improve the experience of being an Engineer at Nursa.

Our test automation suites use Jest, Playwright, and Appium with Browserstack for cross-platform UI testing.
Qualifications:
This role requires the ability to lead across multiple disciplines and timezones, while bringing team members together in their shared purpose. Having both the heart of a teacher and an embodiment of continuous improvement are most critical.
Required
You have deep hands-on experience in pipeline and infrastructure management, preferably overlapping with our tech stack above.
You are a seasoned leader with strong communication skills and experience leading an operations or enablement team.
Leveraging your technical depth, you are able to quickly learn technical implementations, understand tradeoffs, and recommend improvements that benefit both technical and human systems.
