Performs clerical activities. Maintains efficient flow of clerical work on the unit. Schedules follow up appointments for patients. Helps meet regulatory compliance standards, (Ex. refrigerator temps, track compliance data, daily BCA checks, safety rounds, appropriate CHL audits, accommodation codes). Enters charges and maintains accurate accommodation codes. Follows up and confirms OR schedule times. Makes sure all high risk patients have appropriate precautionary items and signage. Maintains adequate paperwork concerning patient information (Patient logs, Patient Labels, Transfer/Admission logs) and data collection. Prioritizes incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, email. Maintains files/records. Monitors unit electronic communication. Sends thank you cards to discharged patients. Facilitates communication between disciplines (nurses, physicians, etc.). Maintains proper inventory levels on all supplies and other items necessary for the operation of the department. Collects non-controlled medications, distributing to the appropriate licensed personnel on unit. Requests supplies from portable equipment.

Performs receptionist activities. Promotes patient satisfaction through personal interaction, and provides assistance/support to patients, significant others, visitors. (Patient rounding as appropriate.) Assist with lost or left behind patient belongings. Responds to call lights/intercom/telephones, and reports unsafe conditions. Directs questions and problems to appropriate person, recognizing the need to seek assistance when necessary. Assist with bed assignments, transfers and discharges. Monitors patient activity on and off unit. Observes Video Surveillance cameras where in use. Communicates regarding equipment maintenance and repairs. Assists with maintaining a clean and safe environment. Assists with transporting patients: interdepartmental and discharge. Monitors compliance with bed alarm usage. Run bed-safety report each shift.

Demonstrates personal accountability. Responds appropriately to emergency situations (Cone Health Codes) and demonstrates knowledge of how to respond. Always uses appropriate safety devices and techniques (examples: pushing carts; correctly lifting copy paper). Protects all confidential information and obeys all HIPAA regulations. Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures, including dress code, attendance, infection prevention, and hand hygiene. Documents time accurately using Kronos. Completes all departmentally required education, competencies, and/or proficiencies.
