Front Office Coordinator - NHMP Hospitalists at Vassar Brothers - Poughkeepsie, NY

Title: Front Office Coordinator - NHMP Hospitalists at Vassar Brothers - Poughkeepsie, NY. Full Time/40 hours per week, variable 8 hours shifts between 7:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Summary: Works with the Clinical Staff and Practice Manager(s) in the coordination of staff, equipment, and resources to facilitate smooth daily operational flow.  

Responsibilities:

1. Management of phones to include answering, proper routing of calls and screening of patient requests and ED patient distribution.
2. Effectively communicate requests and needs from Pharmacy for both inpatient
and outpatient arenas with Clinical Staff to ensure resolution of such issues.
3. Coordinate and assist Clinical Staff with the distribution of VBMC Daily Census List to the hospital floors, Unit Secretaries and Clinical Documentation nursing team.
4. Maintain filing, faxing and demonstrate overall clerical expertise in the execution
of the clerical process including, but not limited to, managing census list
distribution and preparing/sending admission faxes.
5. Responsible to work as a member of the team and ensure coverage for all FOC duties within the office. Addresses patient issues regarding Hospitalists in a timely and effective manner; utilizing input from the Hospitalists and other staff as deemed necessary.
6. Handles outgoing referrals and assists in providing data for monthly management
reports, etc.
7. Ability to manage time and workload effectively within the limitations of the
position.
8. Maintains confidentiality of all employees and patients; reports to upper
management on any violations.
9. Attends and participates in all educational workshops as scheduled by NHMP.
10. Keeps in constant communication with Practice Manager regarding all matters.
11. Interprets and communicates information accurately & recognizes and responds appropriately to emergency situations.
12. Other duties as assign.

Other information:

Required: High School Diploma/GED, 2 years physician office experience. Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Scheduling experience preferred.

Salary Range: $17.07 - $32.47 Hourly (Pay per years of relative experience)
