Overview:
This position will serve as the Cashier for Utah State University, Uintah Basin. A summary of duties includes: providing in-store assistance to customers browsing inventory or checking out items, welcoming customers to the store, answering questions about products, and using a cash register (Clover) to process purchases. This position will report to the Director of Programs and support Student Services unit.
Multiple part-time positions are available, working approximately 15 - 27 hours per week, depending on the shift. All positions are located on the USU Uintah Basin Campus in Vernal, Utah.

Or One shift of 7:45 – 1:15 pm M-F 27.5 hours

M-Th 4:30 – 8:30 16 Hours
Responsibilities:
- Providing a high level of customer service to the campus community.

Processing students, faculty, staff, and the general public, student payments, and issuing closing of temporary change funds.

Restocking products, food items, merchandise, and refiling drink station.

Maintaining the store’s appearance through dusting, cleaning, and straightening of product.

Checking out/in recreation equipment to students.

Preparing orders of product (merchandise, food, and drinks) for vendors

Operating the Campus Cache, timely, in accordance with the posted hours of operation.

Safeguarding payment and product in the storefront at all times.

Responsible for balancing receipts on hand daily and ensuring deposits are sent to the bank.

Maintaining and updating Cashier procedures as needed, under the direction of Utah State University.

Demonstrating an understanding of, and ensuring compliance with internal and external Cash Handling Policies.

Responding to questions and inquiries in a timely manner.

Completing additional projects or tasks assigned by supervisor, including acting as backup for other team members.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Customer service or cashier experience.
-
Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
-
High level of energy with strong customer service skills.
-
Basic math and computer skills.
-
Ability to work with other team members or independently while providing excellent service.
-
Basic knowledge of computers and programs like Microsoft Excel.
-
Ability to work productively with little supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
More than two years of related experience.
-
Experience working in a campus setting.
-
Experience with software including Clover, Argos, and ServiceNow.

Advertised Salary: $13.00 to $15.00 per hour ADA:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. This position requires moderate physical activity, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing or walking more than one hour per day.
