Events Sr. Specialist, Keynote Experiences

The Events Sr. Specialist of Keynote Experiences is part of Okta’s Strategic Events team, which oversees the creation, planning, and execution of large-scale, high-impact events and experiences for our global teams. 

Keynote experiences at Okta refers to the production, logistics and execution of top-level presentations and messaging that are executed on the Keynote stage at our proprietary events. This role supports Okta’s Event lead for Keynote Experiences. Together this team manages rehearsals, visual development, speakers, demos, luminary talent, executive communication, and so much more.

The Keynote team is responsible for the successful production and execution of the keynote stage at Company Kickoff, Sales Kickoff, Okta’s annual user conference Oktane, Office of the CEO events, and numerous global events. Our broader events team influences pipeline at every stage of the funnel and these events are core to that impact.

While this role will primarily focus on Keynote event production, it may support other areas of our events in varying capacities. The ideal candidate will be process-oriented, a strong communicator, and a self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a desire to grow Okta’s Keynote experiences.

Description:

• Support across Tier 1 Keynote experiences (Sales Kickoff, Company Kickoff, Oktane & all executive speaking support)
• Work cross-functionally with teams to drive production best practices across product marketing, comms, studio & brand teams, customer marketing, etc.
• Support the overall Keynote workflow process, including schedules, content development, vendor onboarding, legal review, etc.
• Regularly Interface with the company’s executive communications teams, clearly communicating and driving to deadlines
• Capture notes and action items in meetings to update the team on progress

Required Skills:

Keynote experiences operate in a fast-paced, demanding, and highly nuanced environment. We are seeking an individual who is:

• Experienced in event coordination (keynote production experience preferred)
• Highly organized with high attention to detail and an appreciation for buttoned processes and adherence to deadlines
• Proactive mindset that is always thinking about the next steps and finding ways to streamline.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both verbal and written 
• Collaborative and flexible team player with keen problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated and eager to learn & grow

Additional Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in event management with knowledge of keynote production 
• 5+ years of previous job experience
• Experience working with or for a technology company preferred
• This is specifically event production - not a design-based role
