The Corporate Security team at OpenAI is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our people and facilities. We focus on advancing artificial intelligence responsibly while safeguarding our technologies and intellectual properties worldwide.

About the Role

As a Program Manager, you will be a key driver in advancing the security posture of the organization through strategic program management. You will oversee the integration and alignment of security functions such as intelligence, operations, risk, resilience, and executive protection, ensuring that initiatives are implemented effectively and efficiently. Your focus will be on fostering collaboration across security teams, managing strategic security projects, and driving continuous improvement. By developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and optimizing resource allocation, you will contribute to a resilient and high-functioning corporate security program.

We are looking for people who enjoy solving complex problems, working collaboratively, and continuously improving processes. A willingness to learn, adaptability, and strong communication skills are key to success in this role.. 

This role is based in New York, NY. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of security projects and initiatives across all security functions, including intelligence, operations, risk, resilience and executive protection.

  • Manage the creation and operation of an executive protection and events tracker and dashboard, supporting the organization’s ability to manage security operations efficiently.

  • Provide operational support to ensure successful implementation and integration of security software and systems.

  • Develop KPIs to measure program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement and organize recurring business reviews with the senior leadership team.

  • Facilitate process improvements within the security program, focusing on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Organize recurring team sessions to foster communication and collaboration, sharing insights and updates on corporate security projects and initiatives.

  • Assist in the financial and budgetary aspects of security initiatives, supporting resource allocation, vendor & cost management.

  • Develop and maintain policy and process documentation for security functions, including writing policies and SOPs, while coordinating with security teams to ensure cohesive risk management, security audit processes, and effective cross-team collaboration.

  • Drive operational efficiency by automating administrative tasks, prioritizing risk mitigation efforts, and building processes that reduce friction, enabling OpenAI’s teams and projects to utilize resources effectively and focus on critical priorities.

  • Occasional travel may be required
