Operations Coordinator, Women's Basketball

Job Description:
Brown University Athletics and Recreation is currently seeking candidates for the Women's Basketball Operations Coordinator position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).
The Operations Coordinator reports to the Head Coach, Women's Basketball and is responsible for the coordination and organization of the day-to-day operation of the Brown Women's Basketball program. This position will assist coaching staff in all phases of the daily operations. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Plans, coordinates, facilitates and works basketball event operations and game management duties under the direction of the head coach.
  • Provide support to the Women’s Basketball Program
  • Assist with coordinating team travel and logistics
  • Complete all paperwork for occasional meals or team activities
  • Coordinate facilities for game and practice sessions.
  • Serve as coordinator for basketball tournaments.
  • Assist in equipment management
  • Coordinating basketball alumni and team functions
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience in basketball (collegiate playing, coaching or operations); Division I experience preferred.

Job Competencies
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication (verbal & written) & computer skills, necessary
  • Experience planning and organizing team travel, preferred.
  • High attention to detail, necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, alumni, colleagues and the public.
  • Strong commitment to the welfare of student-athletes.
  • Ability to independently coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
  • Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Basic proficiency in excel, word, internet & email capabilities.
  • Social media experience, helpful.
  • Prior experience with video editing software, helpful.
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to comply with, NCAA, Ivy League and University rules and regulations.

All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, maintain current AED/CPR & First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division), and attend all required divisional and/or NCAA training/education programs.
