OPS Research Assistant

This position serve as a Research Assistant for the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology in the Woods Neuromodulation Lab in the Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory, working closely with the department staff and faculty in performing research duties. The incumbent will be under Associate Director of the CAM for supervision, Dr. Adam Woods.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Recruit and enroll subjects in research projects. Recruiting activities may include, but not be limited to, attending case conferences for relevant populations, designing and distributing recruiting materials, discussing study details with physicians and other healthcare providers, and talking directly to potential subjects for recruiting purposes.
  • Assist in running research protocols for assigned studies including cognitive, neuroimaging, and psychophysiological methods.
  • Score and code study related data for statistical analysis, working with the faculty involved in the assigned studies.
  • Maintain IRB materials for assigned studies.
  • Participate in other research activities as needed; perform surveys and measures with research participants, make appointments for study visits. Provide administrative support to assigned faculty. Assist faculty in a variety of issues concerning laboratory activities, laboratory and office supplies, equipment, appointments and scheduling.
  • Reconcile invoices, assist with editing, filing, keeping research data, ordering, etc.
  • With direction from the assigned Principal Investigators and Grant Specialist, collect and compile data for grant proposals, development and submission. Maintain and organize the documentation for administrative and financial management of grants and studies.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Expected Salary:

$17.00 per hour



Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work with other team members
  • Familiarity with office procedures
  • Ability to organize work
  • Familiarity with basic programming language (MATLAB, python)
  • Experience with reconciling invoices, editing, filing, keeping research data, etc.
