We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.

We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer who will provide end-to-end manufacturing and process solutions for key design features in OURA’s products. This includes manufacturing process development and capability, selection and qualification of manufacturing equipment, automation development, and process technology R&D. 

What you will do: 

  • Define best-in-class processes to meet all OURA design and operational requirements
  • Develop and document processes, parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
  • Work with Sourcing Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing partners
  • Provide leadership and support at manufacturing sites during development and production ramp
  • Work with engineering and other cross-functional teams to drive issues to resolution
  • Use data to drive process decisions and influence product and industrial design, including part tolerances and specifications
  • Identify, research, develop, and qualify equipment manufacturers and suppliers
  • Partner with Sourcing Managers and Product Designers to optimize product design and manufacturing processes for cost

This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in San Francisco or San Diego. 

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 5+ years of direct experience working in a mechanical manufacturing environment as a Supplier Development Engineer, Supply Base Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Design Engineer, Supplier Industrialization Engineer or equivalent role
  • Experience working in a high volume NPI environment
  • Ability to analyze failure modes and identify process or design root causes
  • Ability to apply design of experiments (DOE) approach to drive and validate corrective actions
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing, fixture design and fabrication, qualification procedures
  • Ability to apply engineering knowledge and experience into product and process design
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply quality controls, including capability analysis
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with and influence cross-functional partners
  • Ability to travel internationally, up to 25% of the time

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $142,000 - $178,000
  • Region 2 $130,000 - $163,000
  • Region 3 $120,000 - $150,000
