Painter B

SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. From 50 to 8,000 horsepower, gas, electric or dual drive, SEC is capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet each customer’s specific operating requirements. SEC also provides production, processing, and treating equipment, and an expansive network of warehouses that service locations across the United States. SEC capabilities expand beyond tradition manufacturing to further include turnkey engineering services, truck-based service technicians, manufacturer parts, and power generation equipment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operates a spray painter to apply industrial paint finishes on metal products.
  • Uses high air-pressure sandblasting equipment, chemical application, chipping hammer, power tools and abrasives to prepare surface for painting.
  • Respiratory protection is common and required in many applications
  • Reports problems to line supervisor and actively participates in resolutions.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner and according to company safety procedures.
  • Reports potential safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Familiar with most paint application techniques with the willingness to teach to other lower lever painters and open to learn new techniques on occasion.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal work instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and workers.
  • Performs the above and other duties without supervision.
  • Performs as back-up Lead on occasion.

Required education or minimum level:
  • High school education (GED)
Experience:
  • 2-4 Years’ experience in Paint shop or field related environment.
Skills:
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read tape measures and rulers in increments of 1/16”
  • Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals and whole numbers.
  • Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the assembly department.
  • Must be familiar with Safety and OSHA requirements.

Mental Power: relies on instructions in terms of what and how work is to be done, as well as why it is done, within established policies and procedures.

Physical Power: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work boots.
