We are seeking a Software Engineer to support our USPS Engineering client. The work location for this role is Merrifield, VA. The client will consider a hybrid/remote work schedule of 2 days a week remote/3 days onsite once the employee is acclimated to the team and work environment.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesThe Software Engineer will be responsible for:• Performing software development, testing, and providing support in all phases of the software lifecycle.• Performing analysis and design.• Providing support to issues in production.• Having knowledge of computer data-structures and algorithms.• Working independently or coordinating as part of a development team with other software engineers.Minimum Qualifications• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.• Client Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.• Security Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a USPS Sensitive Clearance.• Experience with at least one of the following: C/C++, ASP.NET Core, VB.NET or C#, Web technologies• Windows, database, and software quality assurance experience.• In depth knowledge of software engineering techniques and concepts.• Good oral and written communication skills.• Must be able to work independently or coordinate as part of a development team with other software engineers.Preferred Requirements• UNIX experience a plus.• Oracle database experience is preferred.HII is more than a job - it’s an opportunity to build a new future.
