Director, Software Engineering

Recast Software empowers organizations to better manage and support users and devices. Our mission is to simplify the work of IT teams and enable them to create highly secure and compliant environments. Our software does this by seamlessly integrating with existing IT infrastructure to quickly remediate issues, ensure compliance, enhance security, and maintain clear visibility across all devices. Recast is a rapidly growing software company with its solution being used by thousands of enterprise organizations in more than 125 countries, impacting millions of devices and (more importantly) the people who use them. 


Recast Software has a blend of multi-tenant SaaS and on-premises applications. We have grown rapidly and have a variety of large enterprise global customers using our software. We are just starting our architectural planning to bring our applications together into one platform that will be a hybrid multi-tenant cloud and single-tenant on-premises application. We provide critical system software that companies use to manage their endpoints – from individual laptops to systems used in 24/7 manufacturing environments. Our solutions ensure that endpoints are secure and compliant, which reduces end-user issues and improves reliability.


Recast Software’s headquarters are in Minneapolis, MN with offices in Utrecht, Netherlands and Jyväskylä, Finland. While Recast is a remote-first company, we value in-person interactions and expect team members to meet face-to-face in the appropriate cadence. To collaborate and manage international teams, we're targeting candidates in the Central and Eastern time zones.


Role Scope:
  • Most senior software engineering leader.
  • Responsible for 5 product scrum teams (soon to be 6) and one dev ops team, located across the US, Netherlands, and Finland – all product development teams and supporting functions.
  • Key partner with Product Management. Planning, roadmap, execution, evaluation. 
  • Key contributor and/or stakeholder to the architectural direction of our applications and platform.
  • Close partnership with Customers, Sales, Customer Success and Technical Support.
  • Technical product roadmap input is critical.

  • Mentoring and growing the organization.

  • Identify strengths and areas of need for the organization.
  • Ensure Engineers understand from customers what works and doesn’t. Help engineers to feel the benefits of what they do.

  • Ensure continual improvement.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Global experience – leading multiple teams across a variety of geographies while navigating cultural differences.
  • Multi-product experience, including B2B SaaS.
  • Experience with technically complex products – enjoys understanding how things work and technical details.
  • Architectural experience, either directly or as a key stakeholder.
  • Experience leading major software transformations.
  • Builds supportive, risk-taking, thoughtful, action-oriented, and data-oriented teams.
  • Enjoys people and cultivating a team environment.
  • Enjoys solving customer and business problems.

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks: 

• The salary range for this position is $175,000-$240,000. Additionally, cash compensation for this role includes 15% annual discretionary bonus potential. Salary may vary based on experience, skills, and geographical location.
