Your Career

The Xpanse ASM feature teams are expanding, and we’re looking for a Manager, Software Engineer. 

Xpanse helps protect some of the world’s most important organizations by finding risks on the Internet that no one else can find. Our product engineering teams are responsible for building the user-facing security products that allow customers to turn trillions of Internet data points into critical cybersecurity insights. 

Your Impact

As the manager of a feature team, you will:

  • Support, coach, and develop your team members, ensuring that they are empowered to deliver high output
  • Define and tailor a flexible agile process to the needs of your team, ensuring smooth execution
  • Drive projects from requirements to complete design and implementation, working through project leads and engineers
  • Work with product management, UX, and your team to translate complicated datasets into intuitive user experiences, overseeing your team to successfully deliver on its roadmap goals
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering management leaders to align efforts across the product
  • Utilize your big-picture perspective to spot existing and impending problems, then work with senior engineers and leadership across the department to analyze and solve them
  • Represent your team in departmental roadmap planning and be able to advocate for engineering-driven initiatives that will ensure long term technical success and sustainability
  • Continuously seek ways to make a substantial impact on the broader engineering organization

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 8+ years of industry experience as a professional software engineer and manager building customer-facing software for a SaaS business, at least two of those years as a manager, providing your team with thoughtful feedback and the resources they need to be successful
  • Significant experience providing technical and managerial leadership of teams building enterprise features on a multi-tenant SaaS platform at scale (examples: role-based access, SAML integrations, feature flag frameworks)
  • Informed opinions about building and maintaining systems handling data at scale, and experience influencing their architecture
  • Deep understanding of Agile development and how it pertains to all aspects of development - design, coding, quality, deployment - equally strong understanding of what to do when Agile doesn't work
  • Ability to balance shipping new products and features with addressing technical debt and investments in architecture and infrastructure
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related Engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience or equivalent military experience required
  • Willing and able to work in San Francisco, CA

Our product engineering teams are responsible for building the user-facing security products that allow customers to turn trillions of Internet data points into critical cybersecurity insights. 

We're looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead one of our feature teams. The engineers on these teams are driven by both our overarching mission of making the internet a safer place for our customers and by the opportunity to build a seamless data-rich product experience for our users.

In this role we expect you to care first and foremost about better enabling your team. You’ll be leading a group of individuals with broad and diverse skill sets who come together to deliver on common goals. You’ll build individualized coaching and growth plans for your team members and

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $165000 - $267500/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
