Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing cleaning duties for Tremont Street Garage with cashiering responsibilities as needed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cleans garage, office, stairwells, and elevators.
- Removes debris such as loose paper, cans and bottles throughout garage area and stairwells.
- Empties trash receptacles in garage, office, bathrooms, and replaces with fresh bags.
- Using cleaning solvents, cleans bathrooms including sinks and commodes.
- Replenishes supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, and soap) as necessary.
- Using gas powered sweeper, sweeps and cleans front entrance area of garage.
- Cleans elevators by shining chrome, spraying walls and washing floors.
- Collects parking tickets and refunds appropriate change especialy during peak periods.
- Answers garage patrons' requests for information courteously.

Qualifications
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to read, write, count and speak basic English, as well as follow basic instructions.
- Ability to drive and operate sweeper machine.
- Ability to operate cash register and count money: Attention to detail necessary when handling money and giving change.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- One to two months on the job training.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Exposure to all types of weather conditions, dirt and dust.
- Contact with Medical Center staff and general public.
