Additional Position Details: FTE/Hours: FTE: 0.000001 | On-Call Position

For this role, we will consider candidates at either the Patient Service Rep 1 or Patient Service Rep 2 levels for this position. Requirements for each level noted below. Salary is based on years of relevant experience and level of position.


Salary:

Patient Service Rep 1- starting at $17.00-$23.37 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Patient Service Rep 2- starting at $18.10-$24.89 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Patient Service Representative performs a variety of support functions for a department and/or program. Duties may include all or part of the following: Greeting, instructing, and directing patients and visitors; scheduling, phones, registration, medical records, and verifying pre-authorization for treatment from insurance, Medicare or other agencies for patients; serving as liaison between the patient and medical support staff; providing imaging tech assistance; acting as cashier, receptionist and referral clerk; maintaining records; completing data entry; and monitoring office services and supplies.

As a Patient Service Rep for Imaging Services Admin, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Greet and interview outpatients and/or family members for pertinent information regarding imaging appointments, confirmation of exam times, and communication of any scheduling changes or delays
  • Register patients for outpatient imaging appointments, and verify demographics, insurance verification, and eligibility
  • Place orders for exams through the EPIC System and verify all information on written and electronic orders is correct including proper ICD-10 codes for the diagnosis, the necessary CPT codes, and physician signature
  • Schedule appointments for all of Diagnostic Imaging, obtain complete history and pertinent information regarding exams, request required labs, prep patients for specific exams, and obtain prior comparisons and reports
  • Actively promote positive working relationships with other internal and external medical staff members
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task easily, and provide excellent phone etiquette and professional office skills
  • Cross train to all jobs in the Imaging Front office, MRI Imaging office, and assist technologists
  • Actively participate in department meetings and performance improvement activities

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as required for the position

Required experience for the Patient Service Rep 1 level:

  • Previous clerical, administrative, healthcare, or customer service experience, or equivalent education

Required experience for the Patient Service Rep 2 level:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant front-desk customer related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting

Licensure/Certifications

  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 3 months of start date
