Patient Transporter

Education

High School graduate or equivalent.

• Skill in oral and written communication.

• Ability to transport and transfer patients including morgue patients.

• Ability to work well under time constraints and to work effectively as a team member.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  

• Heart Saver (CPR Certification) within 30 days of start date

• Manual dexterity required for handling patients, equipment and supplies.

• Ability to push, pull, tug or lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to lift patients and carry items, supplies and equipment.

• Ability to stand, walk and push for extended periods of time.

• Ability to transport stretcher patients, up to 250 lbs., unaided

• Moderate exposure to danger of injury from lifting patients and carrying items.

• Risk of occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

• Possible exposure to inclement weather upon discharge of patients.

• Some exposure to cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.
