This role is based in New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.
About the Role
Our team’s mission is to make Patreon the most trusted and safest place for creators and fans to share and connect with each other.
Lead and contribute to the design and development of new content experiences on Patreon
Advocate for best patterns and practices in the areas of system design, performance, and testing
Drive clarity and alignment on technical vision and direction by collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and product managers
Advocate for engineering systems and solutions that will accelerate product development in the long-run
Work with a fully cross functional team to define and deliver new product features
Build a strong product-minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers
About You
8+ years of experience in backend software development, primarily product oriented.
In depth knowledge of Python, Java and/or a similar general purpose language
Strong understanding of web servers, API design frameworks, and data modeling - and a desire to mentor more junior engineers.
Experience enforcing a high standard of quality and craft with an eye for UX and engineering detail, architecting and leading teams to build software that withstands the test of time.
Excellent communication skills to facilitate requirements gathering, decision-making, and knowledge sharing.
Penchant for solving complex requirements with elegant and simple solutions
Enthusiastic about building for creators.
