Lead Mobile Developer

The Lead Mobile Developer is responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of Paxful’s mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, a passion for mobile development, and a proven ability to manage and mentor a high-performing team. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, backend, and QA, to ensure Paxful’s mobile apps deliver seamless and innovative user experiences while maintaining scalability, security, and performance.

What will you do:

  • Lead the development and enhancement of Paxful’s iOS and Android mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver user-centric features that align with the company roadmap.
  • Oversee code quality and enforce best practices in architecture, design, and performance optimization.
  • Mentor and guide mobile developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure mobile apps integrate seamlessly with backend services and APIs.
  • Drive adoption of new technologies and frameworks to improve development efficiency.
  • Conduct regular code reviews, testing, and performance monitoring to maintain high app reliability.
  • Architect scalable and maintainable solutions for both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring mobile app stability and performance.
  • Work with QA to develop and execute automated test strategies for mobile applications.
  • Ensure adherence to CI/CD practices for seamless delivery of app updates.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, such as blockchain integration, self-custody wallet development, and API enhancements.

What we are looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in mobile application development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
    • Expertise in developing native applications for iOS (Swift, Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin, Java).
  • Proven experience with mobile architecture and design patterns.
    • Knowledge of MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
    • Experience with tools like GitLab CI, Fastlane, and TestFlight.
  • Experience integrating mobile apps with backend APIs.
    • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs.
  • Proficiency in performance profiling and debugging tools.
    • Familiarity with tools like Xcode Instruments and Android Studio Profiler.

Recommended Skills:

  • Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., Flutter, React Native) is a plus.
  • Experience with blockchain or cryptocurrency-related mobile integrations.
  • Knowledge of mobile app security best practices.
  • Contributions to open-source mobile projects or technical communities.
