Payroll Administrator Remote

Job purpose

This position is responsible for the administration of the company’s time and attendance system. Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related client services, including recordkeeping and reporting.

Duties and responsibilities

  • First point of contact for our employees on payroll related matters
  • Maintain payroll information as required
  • Process personnel changes such as new hires, terminations, job changes, leave of absence, benefit deductions, etc.
  • Coordinates efforts between the payroll department and other departments such as the human resources and budget to ensure accurate employee data
  • Handles and monitors the use of the electronic timekeeping system
  • Ensures compliance and maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state policies
  • Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures
  • Responsible for the garnishment/child support set up/ garnishment questionnaire
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or another related field, preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience in processing multi state payrolls both union and non-union
  • Experience with system software such as UltiPro, preferred
  • International payroll experience such as Canadian, preferred
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Proficient problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient skill with Personal Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines

Working conditions

  • Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes
  • Working space will be in a quiet open environment seated within a cubical
  • Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available company offices/branches within respective markets

Physical requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard
  • Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
