New Era’s On Field Apparel Design Team executes creative product solutions for the apparel take downs of the official headwear designs. This role is a creative artist that designs and develops innovative, on-trend graphic designs specific to the On Field headwear. As an Apparel Graphic Designer you will assist in apparel story development, graphic design, tech packing, trim development, sample approvals and other tasks that aid in product development.

Responsibilities

Design relevant, on-trend products and graphic designs

Collaborate with Product Development and Sourcing Teams to make strategic decisions to develop products utilizing standardized colors, embellishments, techniques and silhouettes

Understand market trends and design product which is trend appropriate

Build Apparel Tech Packs in an efficient and timely manner
-
Clearly communicate project updates with Design Management focusing on timelines and deadlines
-
Manage TAC calendars to meet or exceed timelines associated with each product offering
-
Work closely with Design Management to support special projects
-
Effectively design and process account custom artwork requests
-
Review prototype samples against tech packs for accuracy
-
Keeps all sensitive matters confidential

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Exhibits knowledge and passion for both graphic and apparel design and how it relates to the professional sports market/New Era Cap

Understands and closely follows Lifestyle Brands, Fashion Trends and Streetwear Culture

Demonstrates extensive knowledge of professional sports, athletic wear, logos and branding

Shows interest in growing skillset, learning new tequniques, and constantly evolving as a designer/artist

Experience in a Mac environment with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel

Expert-level knowledge of color theory, typography, concept development, and branding

Exhibits strong digital illustration skills

Has a basic knowledge of garment construction and how it relates to graphic application

Proficient in understanding limitations to the screenprinting and embroidery process

Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and efficiently prioritize workday to maximize productivity

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally

Education and Experience
-
Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, or Fashion Design required, experience in lieu of degree considered

3-5 years experience in a graphic/product design within a soft goods screenprinting/embroidery environment

Experience in a Mac environment with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel required
