The
Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard
is seeking a Payroll Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payrolls for 2,000+ Broadies. You will thrive in this position if you are passionate about Payroll and have solid Workday Payroll experience. In this role, you will report to the Payroll Manager and will be involved in all facets of Payroll for a multi-state organization and will have the potential to grow and develop professionally.
This role can be performed as a remote or hybrid opportunity with an expectation of at least 2 days on-site at the Broad Institute per week if classified as hybrid.
Other essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Process weekly and biweekly payrolls
Provide exceptional customer service to employees and resolve their inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Work independently with minimal direction from management to accomplish daily tasks and meet deadlines
Collaborate in a cross-functional team environment with partner departments to improve workflows
Oversee payroll compliance matters such as multi-jurisdiction tax withholding, garnishments, and key annual audits (e.g. 401(k) audit, worker’s compensation, external financial audit)
Perform tax treaty analysis for the non-resident alien employee population to determine tax withholding exemptions
Create process documentation for daily tasks and identify process improvements
Prepare month-end accounting entries
Participate in system testing and implementation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
2-3 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience
Multi-state payroll and state registration experience
Experienced in the payroll tax, including tax implications of a remote workforce
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
Quality customer service mindset
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
