Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

Process payroll, including entry of employee time records, wage computation, employee deductions, garnishments, per diem, and reimbursements.
Input new employees into the payroll database and maintain current employee information.
Serve as a point of contact for staff inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
Serve as quality assurance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Assist with year-end processing including W-2's.
Review automated and manual time entries as needed.
Assist with reconciliation of benefits to payroll.
Detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Degree in business, accounting, or related field is preferred. However, an appropriate combination of education and/or experience is considered equivalent.
Knowledge of UKG product “UltiPro” is an advantage.
Experience with multi-company environments is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to learn new operations, procedures, processes, and accounting software.
Ability to work with a high level of accuracy with detailed information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate financial information to other staff members.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with other staff.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to handle information with the utmost confidentiality
