The Opportunity:
Datadog is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to keep up with our rapidly growing company. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will support the U.S. payroll process for over 1,700 employees. Direct responsibilities will include facilitating the semi monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees. The Payroll Coordinator will review accuracy and partner closely with our Payroll Manager to ensure payrolls are processed in a timely fashion. You will also be responsible for providing administrative support across our Canada, and Latin America population. Most importantly, you will collaborate with our People and Finance teams to continue to scale this important function.
You Will:
Support the semi-monthly payroll process from start to finish, ensuring that employees are paid correctly and on time within our Workday payroll module.
Understand the US function and process payroll according to regulatory requirements.
Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Ensure compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations, tax and deduction laws
Process new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, time sheet data, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, garnishments, and special payments
Perform audits across all aspects of the system in order to ensure accuracy and reliability
Maintain and review payroll records according to record retention policy and distribute correspondence to appropriate agencies and/or departments
Assist in collecting data for internal and external audits, special projects and ad hoc payroll reports
Collaborate with Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) where needed
Answer payroll-related questions from employees in a timely manner
You Are:
At least two to three years of experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment
Familiarity with payroll systems (Workday is essential)
Knowledge of legislation relevant to payroll (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act or FLSA)
Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and research skills, and attention to detail
Sound professional judgment and discretion to handle confidential issues
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
