About PayZen

We are trusted by a rapidly growing number of health systems, hospitals, and physician groups and are backed by leading venture capital investors, including NEA, SignalFire, Viola Group, and 7Wire Ventures.
About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven QA Manager to lead our automation and testing strategy, ensuring product quality through collaboration with engineering and product teams. You will develop automation frameworks, optimize CI/CD processes, and leverage tools like Playwright and Postman. Additionally, you’ll manage the QA team, drive best practices, and contribute to a product improving healthcare access for all Americans.
In this role, you will report to our VP of Engineering, collaborating closely with Engineering and Product to understand requirements, devise effective test plans, and enhance overall product quality.
This role will be based at our headquarters in our San Francisco office. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization poised for significant growth.
Requirements
4+ years of hands-on experience leading QA teams while designing and optimizing test automation frameworks. Ability to assess and refine the QA tech stack (currently Python) as the team grows.
Proven ability to design and develop automation frameworks for UI, services, and APIs using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Webdriver.io, with experience in API testing using Postman, Swagger, or Charles.
Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, actively contributing from initial requirements gathering through deployment, rather than only after development is complete.
Experience working in microservices, API-driven environments with exposure to Kubernetes, JavaScript, Node.js, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
Proficient in CI/CD integration, troubleshooting, and leveraging monitoring/logging tools such as Sentry, Datadog, or New Relic to enhance testing processes.
Strong analytical skills with a background in test case creation, execution, and management using tools like Testrail or Xray for web, mobile, and backend applications.
Ability to work closely with Product, Engineering, and other teams to ensure thorough documentation, clear requirements, and timely release cycles.
