Engineering Manager

Who we are:

Pearl Health is powering the future of healthcare. We help primary care providers and organizations to deliver quality healthcare to the patients who need it most, when they need it most — and get rewarded for keeping patients healthy.

Our technology, services, and financial tools enable better, more proactive care, decrease total cost of care across patient panels, and optimize performance in value-based care models for Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage.

We are a team of physicians and public health experts (Stanford, Harvard, Mount Sinai), technologists (athenahealth, Amazon, Meta, Flatiron), healthcare innovators (Centivo, Aledade, Stellar, Arcadia), and experienced risk management professionals (CVS/Aetna, Humana, Oscar) who believe that primary care providers are the key to addressing our healthcare system’s biggest challenges.

Since its founding in 2020, Pearl has expanded to partner with thousands of primary care providers in practices and organizations across 44 states. Our investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, AlleyCorp, and SV Angel.

  • Innovate: Partner with Product, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders to define bold, scalable solutions. Bring a forward thinking mindset to challenges, driving innovation and customer impact.

  • Dive Deep into Complex Systems: Engage with the technical details of your team’s work to ensure sound decision-making. Foster a culture of Bias for Action, enabling your team to resolve blockers quickly and efficiently.

  • Earn Trust Across Teams: Collaborate effectively with Product, Operations, Growth, and other stakeholders. Communicate clearly, provide actionable feedback, and model Disagree and Commit when navigating conflicting priorities.

  • Champion Privacy and Security: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA and HITRUST, while designing and delivering secure, privacy-conscious solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Leadership Experience: 4+ years managing diverse teams of engineers across junior and senior levels. A proven track record of building high-performing teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • Engineering Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience with full-stack customer facing web application development in highly data-driven systems. Proficiency in API development, modern frameworks, and integrating emerging technologies like machine learning and natural language processing. Preference with experience with Python and React

  • Customer Obsession: A proven track record for solving complex problems that deliver tangible value to customers.

  • Collaborative Mindset: Experience working in partnership with Product Management, User Experience, and other stakeholders to develop customer-centric solutions.

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to align technical execution with business goals, while foreseeing potential risks and opportunities.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Adept at tailoring messages to technical and non-technical audiences, providing clarity and context.

  • Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: Experience working with diverse teams and leveraging varied perspectives to build stronger solutions.

  • Healthcare/Fintech Experience (Preferred): Knowledge of healthcare, insurance, or financial technology ecosystems is a plus, but passion for our mission is essential.
