Role: Senior Conversational Experience DesignerCompany: PearsonLocation: US, RemoteAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Conversational Experience Designer with a strong background in conversational design and AI-driven chat experiences using LLMs. You will be responsible for crafting intuitive and engaging conversational interfaces across our digital platforms in higher education. Content Strategists at Pearson are embedded within product teams that are deeply collaborative, and each member is directly responsible for the team’s success.Key AccountabilitiesCreate conversational flows and dialog patterns that reflect our brand voice and toneTranslate business requirements into natural language flows backed by UX research and good design practicesDefine the content strategy for implementing the latest AI capabilities for personalization through conversational interfacesCollaborate closely with product designers, UX researchers, product managers, and engineers to create industry-leading experiences that address real customer challengesFacilitate feedback loops through user research and analysis of usage metricsIntegrate the latest AI capabilities to enhance personalization and ensure conversational accuracy, naturalness, and responsivenessAudit, analyse, structure and create content that improves the accessibility, inclusion, readability and effectiveness of our digital platformsContinuously monitor and analyse user feedback and behavioural data to iterate and improve conversational experiencesInvite and conduct content and design critiques and reviews (pre-launch and post-launch)Build strong relationships within Design as well as cross departmentally to foster positive culture and collaborationJob QualificationsIn-depth knowledge of conversation AI platforms, natural language processing, and chatbot frameworks5+ years’ as a UX conversation designer with an online portfolio of high-impact, relevant work samples that showcase process and storytelling capabilitiesBachelor's or master's degree in linguistics, English, information sciences, psychology, human factors, Human-Computer Interaction or design related field.Understand the constraints and capabilities of Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models (LLMs)Passionate and knowledgeable about conversation design, intent development, interaction design and information architectureDemonstrate artistry and excellence in communicating strategically; knows how to simplify complex ideas so that others can quickly comprehend themProven experience in:Current design tools including FigmaDesigning conversational experiences (Chat, AI, voice, or SMS) in an agile environmentChatGPT prompt engineeringFacilitating user-centred design methodologiesAgile and Lean UXStrong business acumen and experience working in an agile environmentExcellent communication, self-management, organizational, and presentation skillsExperience of digital educational content (desirable)PearsonPearson is a design-centric product company whose mission is to have a direct relationship with millions of lifelong learners.
