Production Supervisor

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor ensures the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient by organizing workflows and monitoring staff. They supervise, direct, train, and assist lower-level manufacturing and production workers. This role requires collaboration with all levels of organization team members, removes potential and in-process production bottlenecks, ensures the safety of team members, and delivers continuous training to production team members in accordance with meeting daily company production goals and expectations. Production Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and executing department priorities to ensure supervisee follow organizational policy and procedures with the primary focus of production
  • Monitoring 20-40 employee productivity to provide positive feedback, verbal coaching, written disciplinary actions, as well as cyclical performance evaluations
  • Attendance and time keeping for all production team members: Timecards, Time off and Sick pay
  • Set goals for department performance as it pertains to individual employee performance and succession planning

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Schedule workflow for all pouring machines and various production applications
  • Ensure all Production Team Members adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate and Troubleshoot machinery issues to minimize down time and maintain a successful preventative maintenance schedule
  • Ensure production processes are being carried out in line with company and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure production team members have access to all relevant raw materials and equipment – ensure the smooth running of production
  • Ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Maintain quality, efficiencies, and production goals set by management
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 2+ years prior supervisory experience, Associates Degree or better preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently
  • Ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting
  • Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to create and adhere to production processes
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Compensation: 75,000-85,000

Physical Activities

Standing for a good portion of shift.

Lifting , twisting and pulling repeatedly during the shift.

Sitting and completing computer tasks involving typing, paperwork and systematic validation periodically throughout the shift

Carry, lift and push/pulling up to 65 pounds during shift

Environmental Conditions

Low temperatures.

High temperatures.

Noisy environments.
