Manager, Industrial Engineering

General Summary

The Industrial Engineering Manager is an experienced and motivated individual who combines strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to training and developing staff while addressing operational challenges. The ideal candidate will manage the team and actively engage in design, optimization, and process improvement initiatives. This person will also establish objectives and goals for the team, effectively leading the IE team to support operational and business needs.


This is an in-person role, requiring on-site presence in Roseville, CA five days a week.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

•Select, manage, train, and develop staff. Establish objectives and assignments and provide ongoing feedback through performance reviews and development plans.*

•Stay abreast of a broad spectrum of industrial engineering principals and maintain a comprehensive understanding of diverse technical concepts to help develop systems, processes and procedures that enable the industrial engineering group to function at a high level.

•Lead efforts to analyze systems and determine how to manufacture parts or products with maximum efficiency and quality.*

•Work with manufacturing, quality, and R&D engineers to influence and identify equipment and process improvement opportunities, as well as improvements in layout of workspaces.*

•Understand the drive time study analysis and identification of value / non-value-added activities used to maximize workflow and space utilization. The information gained from these studies should be incorporated into subsequent presentations of findings and used in the planning and implementation of improvement plans.*

•Participate in headcount and space analysis’, with the intent of identifying opportunities for improvements.*

•Own the utilization analysis process.

•Ensure facility efficiency and workplace safety, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.*

•Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.

•Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company.

•Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.

•Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Minimum education and experience:

•Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, and five plus (5+) years of relevant experience in the medical device or another highly regulated industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Additional qualifications:

•Three plus (3+) years of experience managing direct reports including interviewing, selecting, hiring, training, and providing ongoing feedback, as well as managing performance evaluations is required.

•Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Excel, as well as standard office tools such as Word and PowerPoint is required.

•Creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills and a desire to continue learning are crucial to the role.

•Willingness to solicit and understand customer feedback in the application of solutions is strongly desired.

•Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.

•High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

•Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously.


Working Conditions

•General office and cleanroom environments.

•Business travel from 0% - 10%.

•Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

•Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.

•Must be able to move between buildings and floors.

•Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day.

•Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets.

•Must be able to move within the office and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed.

•Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.


Annual Base Salary Range $114,512 - $187,255

We offer a competitive compensation package plus a benefits and equity program, when applicable.

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
