The Role
We are looking for a People Operations Lead for EMEA based in Ireland, to be an integral part of the team that oversees operational functions of our People team in EMEA, and provide best in class support to our employees.
The main responsibilities include leading the People Ops Coordinators in Europe, and oversee compliance, regulations, and operations in the region, leading key projects for Hopin’s expansion in the region.
Enabling a world-class remote onboarding and employee experience aligned with our hyper-growth in the region, creating and implementing new company policies, and maintaining internal HR systems. This role will require you to build strong partnerships with our Recruitment, Payroll, IT, Legal teams, as well as our external employment partners.
You will be the face of the People Operations team in Europe and will need to handle day-to-day employee queries, efficiently and with a friendly face.
To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for people and culture, an interest in operations, experience working with metrics, a good understanding of compliance in Europe, as well as relevant work experience in a fast-paced startup/scale-up.
Responsibilities
Team Management
Lead the People Ops Coordinators team in Europe, currently 2 direct reports
Work on the career development of our team of People Ops Coordinators
Be involved in the hiring process for any new People Operations team members
Track the OKRs defined for the people team and track progress
Knowledge transfer of key HR processes and learnings to the wider team
Employee Experience & Onboarding
Be the go to person for Ireland, DACH, and Benelux
Research, design, and implement company policies that enhance the employee experience
Ensure day to day administrative tasks around onboarding & employee experience are completed
Advise and support Hopineers around the company as and when issues arise, helping smoothly guide difficult situations through to fair conclusions
Own the Internal Ticketing System, hitting SLA targets and improving the system.
Present policies to new joiners on during Onboarding
Employee Lifecycle & Compliance
Ensure employee records in our HRIS are correct and up to date
Create and send employee promotion, pay rise and other employee lifecycle letters
Act as a consultant to managers and team members regarding policies and procedures
Research, present and action insights from HR reports and Government legislation, such as Annual Leave in EU Countries, Right to work checks and Parental Leave standards.
Collaboration
Work closely on projects with Recruitment, People Partners, People Analytics, IT, Legal, Global Mobility, and Payroll on improving and scaling our operational processes.
About You
Must have
5+ years of relevant People Ops experience
2+ years of experience managing small teams
Knowledge of HR Policies, laws, compliance, and procedures in Ireland, DACH, and Benelux
Strong presentation and communication skills
Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems
Ability to develop clear and fair company policies
Good analytical and decision-making abilities
Relationship builder with an ability to create strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Team player who can work cross-functionally across multiple departments
Nice to have
3+ years of experience in People Ops experience in fast-paced scaling tech startups
Experience of working with a Professional Employment Organization (PEO)
Legislation and compliance of EU countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland.
Content writing skills
Understanding of what it is like to work in a startup environment
Experience with tools like Slack, GreenHouse, Hibob, Workday, Halp, Jira, etc.
