JOB SUMMARY

Our in-house Creative team is a tight-knit group that includes art directors, photographers, designers, and copywriters who all work together to help bring our brand to life, both on the page and online. The Photo Retoucher will be responsible for the post-production of images for our website, catalog and social media platforms.

ABOUT YOU

If you are a highly trained individual that specializes in image manipulation and color correction, then this position is for you! You love Photoshop and bringing out the final vision of image creation. You are open to collaborating with others as well as are working on your own. You know how to be flexible, but always maintain high standards for original concepts and detailed executions. This position requires a passion for still life and understand lighting and color as it pertains to a finished image. You show professionalism in all aspects of your daily tasks, including taking feedback and edits with grace and positivity. This role will work on the retouching and color management of images that will appear in a range of marketing materials, with a primary focus on e-commerce photography. You have high attention to detail while maintaining excellent quality standards.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform full image retouching that included clean up, merging multiple images when needed, color correction/shifting, masking, cropping and compositing according to established style guide.
  • Be responsible for the look and feel of finished post-production protocols in collaboration with the Senior Photographer and Photo Director.
  • Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Capture One and non-destructive workflows.
  • Understanding of RGB and CYMK workflows and color management, catalog pre-press experience a plus.
  • Take note of image markups placed by photographers and Art Directors, collaborating closely with them to fulfill the creative vision.
  • Match color back to actual product samples and ensure color consistency between print and web image assets.
  • Attend weekly pipeline meetings to coordinate with Site Merchandising Team and the Sr Photographer on incoming products and deadlines.
  • Update and maintain digital image archive.
  • Participate in special projects as needed both on-site and off-site

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Photography—preferred, but not necessary if experience and portfolio warrant
  • 2-4 years retouching experience with a portfolio focused ecommerce and catalog still life photography, retouching people is a plus.
  • Well-versed in Adobe programs, Capture One and working with Mac computers
  • A background in color correction for print and web
  • Must be highly creative, flexible, efficient, organized and detail-oriented
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with a strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills (clear and professional)
  • A kind and engaged collaborator
  • Position is on-site at our Sunset Park location; Brooklyn Army Terminal

  • The anticipated starting base pay for this role is between $63,000 and $67,000. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and role-based skills.
