Photographer

The Photographer is responsible for event and marketing photography, as well as management of related activities. This position works closely with the Director, Creative Services to capture images that highlight and support the College’s brand.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Brand Ambassador:
Collaborates with College Marketing to understand goals and bring to the table fresh ideas to help accomplish them.
Captures photography at events and works with Art Directors to capture student experience for use in marketing and communications materials and a variety of publications and electronic media. Captures headshots for Babson community.
Recruits, trains and supervises student photographers; contracts with and oversees freelance photographers.
Owns scheduling to ensure specified institutional events are staffed appropriately for photography needs, spaces are reserved, and subjects are prepared as needed.
Oversees the College’s digital asset management system.
Assumes additional responsibilities as requested

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience and a portfolio that includes event and marketing photography with people as subjects (we are looking for a range from professional portraits to slice-of-life candids, to art-directed/staged shots).
Experience managing a digital asset management system.
A growth mindset: eager to learn new things for self, and bring creative new ideas to our team.
Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This position requires a flexible schedule which will vary as needed, particularly during the Fall and Spring semesters. Additional hours, including early mornings, evening and weekends, will be required in support of special projects and events.
Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College’s insurer’s criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College’s vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee’s driving record based on the College insurer’s criteria; and safety training as required by management.
