About Us

PlayAI is at the forefront of generative voice and conversational LLMs. With our Speech Synthesis and Voice Cloning models, we are building SOTA conversational AI products.

We are building a platform and infrastructure for Conversational AI Voice Agents so that every business, developer, or tinkerer can easily build talking human-like AI agents and use them to serve their customers; this will unlock massive value for the world and a lot of happiness for people using these delightful agents.

We joined YC last year in the YC W23 batch. Since then, we have raised $21m in seed funding and seen significant growth in users and revenue (20x the last two years).

Role Overview:

...If you've been grinding LeetCode or spent many hours on data science and algorithms, you are in the wrong place.

  • A highly fast-paced environment that values hard work and quick output. However, if you’re okay with leaving a small UI bug in production over a weekend - please don’t apply.

  • Prototype Development: Build and iterate on fast prototypes utilizing LLM technology and full-stack web development (Node.js and React).

  • Contribute to a Creative Team: Bring new ideas to the table and collaborate with cross-functional teams to push forward creative AI solutions.

Qualifications:

  1. Technical Skills:

    • Strong expertise in Node.js (backend) and React (frontend).

    • Familiarity with LLM technologies (Large Language Models).

    • Experience with Firebase is a plus.

    • Can visualize product changes from users' point of view

    • Comfort with end-to-end development, including troubleshooting, full bug hunting and resolution capability, and deployment.

  2. Experience:

    • A dense GitHub portfolio demonstrating consistent contributions over time. Showcase your ability to build and ship code efficiently.

    • Experience with audio data flow (nice to have, but not required).

  3. Attributes:

    • A passion for building prototypes and delivering fast solutions with high technical accuracy.

    • Ability to explain complex concepts without needing a whiteboard and articulate mental models clearly.

    • Strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and the ability to maintain focus under pressure.

    • Currently enrolled in school (this role is ideal for students or recent graduates eager to grow in the field).
