Legal Counsel, Acute & Payer

*Preference for candidates based in/near Salt Lake City, Utah, but open to remote US candidates.

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel (Acute & Payer), your primary duties would include assisting with general commercial matters related to PointClickCare’s U.S.-based network of acute-care and payer customers and partners, including, but not limited to, the drafting and negotiating of services, new product and technology-related agreements, including master services agreements, partnership agreements, confidentiality agreements, business associate agreements, SaaS agreements, data protection agreements, software licenses, subcontractor agreements, supplier agreement, and related statements of work.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

·         JD and active member of a U.S. state bar

·         3-5 years of experience

·         Experience independently negotiating complex business transactions on tight deadlines

·         Demonstrated capacity to actively solve complicated legal and business problems

·         Flexibility to assist the Legal Department in its activities and its mission as needs arise

·         Keen judgement, integrity and tact

·         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

·         Strong written and verbal communication

·         Self-starter/ability to work independently

·         Persuasive, influential and collaborative

·         Strong client service orientation

 

Preferred Experience:

·         Health care information technology licensing strongly preferred

·         SaaS licensing

·         Information privacy compliance

·         Health care regulatory compliance

·         Canadian legal experience


The Legal Department manages a large volume of requests, and candidates must have the ability to fluidly manage workload in accordance with business objectives and internal client priorities.  Candidates for this position must possess superb organizational skills, business judgment, strategic thinking, and writing and verbal communication skills.  Candidates must have the ability to lead and must be unafraid of rolling up their sleeves to take on tasks as needed.  Where direct reporting lines are not in place, the candidate should have the ability to motivate others through influence.  As a member of a smaller department, our lawyers are expected to work on a variety of legal matters outside of their central role.  


$144,000 - $165,000 a year
At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The US base salary range for this position is $144,000 - $165,000 (Exempt) + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location. At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The US base salary range for this position is $144,000 - $165,000 (Exempt) + bonus + equity + benefits.
