Position Summary: The JCCC Police Officer provides law enforcement and public safety services to the college community to include but not limited to enforcement of criminal statutes, parking and traffic enforcement, crime prevention, patrol activity, accident investigation, resolution of domestic and other disturbances, prosecution support, non-criminal public safety services, enforcement of college policies, rules, and regulations.
Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent; must be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. Citizen; possess valid driver’s license issued within the United States and must be a certified and commissioned law enforcement Officer in the state of Kansas. If applying from out of state, must have been an active Law Enforcement Officer within the last five years and pass the Kansas Reciprocity examination(s) within the first year of hire. Candidates must successfully pass polygraph, psychological and physical exams, criminal history, and MVR background checks prior to employment; possess excellent oral and written communication skills along with good organizational skills and the ability to make sound judgment decisions.
Preferred Qualifications: *Johnson County Community College requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
