Porter - PT - Weekends - Main OR

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides courier support services to the Pre- and Post- Operative Departments. Transports & escorts patients to and from hospital departments & treatment rooms using safe transfer techniques, assists clinical personnel in moving patients to and from beds, stretchers, tables, etc. Delivers specimens, equipment, schedules, etc. to all parts of the hospital, maintains transportation equipment in clean & safe condition. May be required to run errands outside the facility on occasion.

POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ High School Diploma/GED

¨ Valid Texas Drivers license preferred

¨ BLS/CPR certification must be completed within 90 days of hire.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

¨ No experience required, however, experience working in a hospital or health care setting is preferred.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

¨ Performs transport duties for the department as necessary.

¨ Establishes, maintains and revises record keeping and filing systems, ensuring confidentiality of information.

¨ Consistently is attentive to detail, when delivering paperwork

¨ Distributes mail in a timely manner.

¨ Accepts and screens telephone calls and routes calls appropriately; promptly and graciously responds to calls and visitors and determines the urgency of the situation; suggests appropriate referrals or informs management when the situation warrants immediate attention.

¨ Performs other duties as assigned.
