Accounting Manager

What we are looking for

An Accounting Manager who is seeking to join a fast-growing startup immediately. The ideal candidate will own day-to-day accounting for both our property operations as well as corporate general ledger. You’ll oversee the monthly accounting close, establish and monitor internal controls, and ensure effective policies & procedures are in place. As the Accounting Manager, you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and strong motivation to contribute to the achievement of an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting process.

• Lead and grow the Accounting team and ensure accurate and complete accounting records, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close procedures
• Manage the accounting close cycle ensuring timelines are established and met
• Act as subject matter expert regarding proper treatment of general ledger transactions in accordance with GAAP, with notable emphasis on ASC 606 revenue recognition, M&A accounting and long-term liabilities
• Own the account reconciliation process and guide the accounting team to drive continuous improvements
• Establish accounting accruals and reserves
• Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively
• Support external audit readiness by preparing workpapers and memos, providing supporting audit schedules, evidence, and process overviews
• Assist with banking and cash management functions
• Partner with product development teams to build scalable accounting processes by driving enhancements to our internal systems and related processes
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners surrounding the accounting processes
• Assist with other projects as assigned

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
• Experience: 4+ years accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus but not required
• Qualifications: Active CPA or equivalent license (a plus but not required)Systems: Sage Intacct experience and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Advanced understanding of US GAAP2+ years' in real estate, property management, or a closely related field (a plus but not required)Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills
• Highly adaptable with great attention to detail and takes proactive approach to problem solving in a fast paced environment
