Description\:

The Computational Toxicology group within Non-clinical Drug Safety (NDS) for Development at Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a talented and motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join their team at the Ridgefield, CT, site. This scientist will leverage single-cell transcriptomics data to gain insights into mechanisms of immunotoxicity of biotherapeutics to enhance predictive toxicology. The candidate will be expected to develop and publish research findings to both internal and external scientific communities and to collaborate broadly with colleagues in Integrative Toxicology, Molecular Pathology, and Discovery Research groups.

Postdoctoral Research Areas of Focus\:

  • Generate and analyze single-cell transcriptomics data for deep immunophenotyping and characterization of immune responses in animal models
  • Mine and analyze publicly available data to enhance inform species selection for toxicology studies
  • Investigate mechanisms of toxicity for biotherapeutics, including antibody drug conjugates, T-cell engagers, and oncolytic viruses
  • Identify novel safety biomarkers using advanced statistics and/or machine learning approaches
  • Contribute to the Immune Safety Avatar (imSAVAR) consortium, as part of the Innovative Medicines Initiative

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities\:

  • Recently granted or anticipated Ph.D. degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Immunology, Genomics, Toxicology, or related scientific field
  • Expertise in generating and analyzing genomic/transcriptomic data to answer complex biological questions
  • Demonstrated programming experience using R and/or Python, bash scripting, and high performance/cloud computing environments
  • Wet lab experience generating genomics and/or transcriptomics data
  • Ability to collaborate with scientists from other areas
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Eligibility Requirements\:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation\: This position offers an annual base salary of $80k with potential for a sign on bonus and relocation assistance. BI Post Doctoral roles are 3 year contracts with potential to renew an additional year. Post Doctoral hires are eligible for certain benefits.
