ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties:
Provide nursing care in various specialty areas including Operating Room, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Catheterization Lab/Electrophysiology, GI Lab, Interventional Procedure, and Post Anesthesia Care.
Adhere to established nursing protocols and standards of care.
Patient Care:
Perform assessments, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient responses.
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the care process.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation according to VA regulations and standards.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
Education and Support:
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families during their healthcare journey.
Emergency Response:
Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide critical care as needed.
Professional Development:
Participate in continuing education and training programs to maintain and enhance nursing skills.
Adherence to Policies:
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and infection control measures, especially in dealing with COVID-19 positive patients or Patients Under Investigation (PUIs).
RequirementsEducation:
Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Licensure:
Current, unrestricted registered nurse license from any state in the United States.
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required (American Heart Association).
Experience:
Prior experience at AVAHCS or VA facilities is preferred.
Commitment:
Candidates must be willing to work with COVID-19 positive patients or Patients Under Investigation (PUIs).
