Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a part of the Cloud Platform Team of Belden building a central orchestration IIoT Platform that manages network devices and streaming data edge to cloud. You will be working in an AGILE squad as the lead Java engineer interacting with a team of other engineers, DevOps, QA to deliver quality product on the Platform.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and development of high-performance business applications, from requirements analysis to production
• Technical leader - hands-on player, individual contributor, and technical leader
• Lead by example - software quality, coding best practices, highly scalable applications, multi-tenant applications, cloud security, microservices
• Constantly improve software quality (evaluate and incorporate new libraries, tools, and technologies; code reviews; refactoring; testing; etc.)
• Analyze and improve application performance
• Search for simple and robust solutions to complex tasks
• Work in an agile methodology environment where innovation, teamwork, and creativity are the key to success
• Collaborate with a distributed team of developers, QA engineers

Required Skills and Experience

• 14+ years in Software Development experience
• Microservices frameworks, Spring Boot, Dependency Injection
• MongoDB and/or other NoSQL exp
• Knowledge of Java platform (collections, concurrency, etc.)
• Knowledge on SaaS and distributed system architecture
• Working knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies
• Hands-on experience with developer daily basis tools such as IDEs, compilers, debuggers, profilers, version control systems, bug tracking systems, build systems, code coverage and automated testing tools
• Experience with unit and integration testing
• Desire and ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
• Ability to proactively identify and solve engineering problems
• Good interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proactive and Takes initiative STEM background preferred but not a must.
• Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility
• Remote (within US) and in-person flexibility hybrid (For Bay area candidates)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
