Principal Systems Architect

Job Description:

Celestial AI is seeking a Principal Systems Architect to lead the system definition, planning and build execution with Celestial AI vendors and partners. Self-starter who is passionate about ground-breaking compute and networking technology and driving change. The ideal candidate will need to be able to translate the business and technical requirements from the clients into a feasible turnkey solution. Has a strong sense of ownership, loves turning ambiguity into real outcomes and working across all engineering and product functions to deliver required solutions in a timely manner.

In this role, you will work closely with the product management and sales teams and develop strategic approach to customer needs, engage on proof-of-concept machines, infrastructure validations, and help create innovative solutions to penetrate the end customer(s).

You will be responsible for ensuring design for manufacturing, reliability, and cost for systems deployed at Celestial AIs end customers. Responsibilities will include identification and mitigation of risk to new technologies used in data centers and ensure a successful path to high volume manufacturing through maturing product during the NPI phase. This job will require you to have strong project management, written and verbal communication skills as well as a can-do attitude to prioritize and address issues with a very high sense of urgency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build and lead the system and solutions team to convert application, solution, and business requirements from the customer into feasible total solution
• Responsible for Data Center Solution, Rack Integration, and Deployment strategy and execution
• Work with customer and internal cross-functional product and technical teams and lead our data center system development efforts with external vendors to define scaled accelerator deployments
• Develop strong technical relationships within the company, externally with the customers and vendors alike as a single point of contact for all system level design and manufacturing problems
• Frequently collaborate with industry peers and suppliers to stay abreast of industry advances and future roadmaps
• Resolve daily technical issues with cross-functional engineering teams in a timely manner and drive for Celestial AI's success
• Actively manage qualification of data center hardware solutions, while operating within established cost and time constraints

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering related field is preferred
• 15+ years of experience in server-based solutions, rack and appliance based system solutions for the datacenter, with 5-7 years' experience in complex systems project management.
• Expertise with Cloud Infrastructure, Virtualization, Cloud Computing, AI/ML and Systems Hardware (Blade and Rack Servers)
• Hands on experience with server hardware and architecture, prior experience troubleshooting server/storage/network products is a must
• Experience in Photonics is a plus.
• Superb negotiation skills with ability to influence both the clients as well as suppliers
• Strong leadership – ability to lead cross-functional teams in large corporate environment
• Proven record in successful delivering data center solutions to meet customer demands is highly preferable

• Ability to lead and drive internal/external resources to accomplish key milestones and execute deliverables.

As an early startup experiencing explosive growth, we offer an extremely attractive total compensation package, inclusive of competitive base salary and a generous grant of our valuable early-stage equity. The target base salary for this role is approximately $175,000.00 - $225,000.00. The base salary offered may be slightly higher or lower than the target base salary, based on the final scope as determined by the depth of the experience and skills demonstrated by candidate in the interviews.
