Principal Technologist (Security and Cloud), Remote - US

Want to help us simplify the world of data management?

We are looking for a highly technical, self-motivated, and experienced Principal Technologist, Security and Cloud. You will lead technical conversations with IT practitioners and executives that span: Security, Cloud (SaaS, AWS and/or Microsoft), data protection, file services and virtualized data center environment discussions as needed.

Ideally, you're someone who comes from an IT practitioner or architecture background with a significant track record in building and developing real world solutions, have a strong understanding around security practice, and also loves to share your passion on stage, through blogging and social media. You'll need to have immediate credibility with Architects, IT Managers, security experts, and CIOs.

How you'll spend your time here:

Be a passionate technical spokesperson about the company and product through webcasts and presenting at conferences.
Be part of an influencer community similar to AWS Heroes, Microsoft MVPs, VMware vExperts or security influencer communities.
Plan and drive blog posts, podcasts, light board videos, webinars, etc
Be a technology evangelist for venues such as Security, AWS, Microsoft events and other trade shows.
Be active on social media platforms.
Lead, coordinate and host activities with the IT Communities group.
Drive demonstrations and discussion with key analysts such as Gartner.
Build and lead the technical infrastructure for trade show demos and train SEs and others.

We'd love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

10+ years experience in technical marketing or equivalent data center solution design and implementation.
Strong hands-on knowledge of security strategies and cloud technologies. With some understanding of virtualization and storage technologies, data protection and virtualization technologies. Relevant industry certifications preferred.
Advanced knowledge of security from a technical and strategic perspective.
Additionally knowledge or ability to align security knowledge with Cohesity technologies and how they align with cloud hyperscalers such as AWS and/or Microsoft cloud ecosystem of technologies.
Leader with an owner mentality, with experience working in a fast-paced, multifaceted startup business. Resourceful and creative. Efficient and flexible work style.
You have immediate credibility within the areas of security and cloud based on the portfolio of solutions you've delivered in the past.
You will join a hardworking team of technologists to learn from, and with, in an atmosphere that is engaging, diverse, and dynamic.
Expert level knowledge of IT industry trends, broad and deep IT industry experience, and a high degree of business acumen.
Proven track record to team with both product marketing and technical sales.
Significant experience working in a technology evangelist or technical executive role.
BS or MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems is preferred
Able to travel up to 40% within the state.

Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

US Pay Range

$182,400—$228,000 USD
