Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will help to transform raw materials into Finished Goods. They are responsible for designing, implementing, controlling, and optimizing industrial processes and machinery in the manufacturing plant. The process engineer will help design equipment, install safety control into a system, upgrade the processes, and factor in environmental and health protection. Responsible for identifying and selecting efficient and cost-effective processes. Manufacturing process engineers are highly technical and intimately familiar with the overall manufacturing process. They can see the big picture and how each individual part of a process affects other pieces.

Essential Functions

• Analyze current production procedures and standards to identify inefficiencies. Analyze both employee and machinery workflow to find out where the process can be streamlined for lower costs and higher productivity

• Responsible for researching new technology and suggesting new equipment to the appropriate managers and decision-makers

• Create strategic plans that eliminate inefficiencies. Research of current best practices and prepare presentations to inform key stakeholders

Responsible for monitoring any new procedures and reporting successes and failures to the Operations organization. May need to give these reports as full presentations to key stakeholders

Job Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering

• Concentrations in chemistry, mathematics and management are also helpful

• Successful manufacturing process engineering candidates should have 1- 2 years of experience.

• Must have an understanding of working with industrial machinery

• Understand how each piece of machinery contributes to the overall process

• Strategic planning skills –know how to think ahead and can see the big picture when planning new manufacturing processes

• Critical thinking –can approach a process while considering it from all angles. Knows how to dig deep and understand the implications of what is found

• Interpersonal communication skills –communicates clearly and efficiently so everyone understands what processes are changing

Compensation:70,000 slight flexibility based on years of experience

Shift:

Days: M-F 8:30am- 5:00 pm.
