Purpose of the role:
Strong Risk and Governance of the Procurement Function underpins delivery of Diageo’s Purpose - Celebrating Life, Every Day, Everywhere, and its ambition is to create the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer products company in the world.

To deliver on this ambition, the Procurement Manager Risk & Governance and Learning & Development role is to build and maintain trust and protect our reputation in every market through enduring internal customer partnerships and exemplary conduct.
The role is critical to supporting Global Procurement’s vision to “To be the most trusted and respected business partner, fueling growth and value every day, everywhere”, by focusing on exemplary R&G practices and standards which seek to improve trust and respect with business partners, external and internal customers.
This role will drive global embedment of Procurement R&G and Standards and ensure a strong culture of compliance across the function. A significant amount of cross functional working will be required, particularly across Finance, Legal, DBO, the Procurement R&G team and the NAM CARE team.

Functional Policies & Standards/Global Framework:

NAM SME for the Purchasing Policy, Partnering with Supplier Standard and SOA. Review and collaborate in annual updating for all.

Develop interventions required to support knowledge of and compliance to the policies and standards.
-
Collaborate and support Global R&G Manager with all policy related activities, driving awareness to the CoBC and global policies/standards across Procurement, leading the work of the market team to assess risks, agree plans and implement required functional activity.
Governance Framework:
-
Responsible for ensuring clarity and alignment of Procurement’s governance requirements in relation to Diageo’s codes, policies and standards, processes, and systems.
-
NAM Procurement CARM/CAS SME, ensuring risks associated with Procurement processes have been mitigated through effective operation of the Procurement CARM controls.

NAM Procurement / CARM,CAS, CARE and GAR relationship owner, ensuring alignment on Procurement procedures and supporting audit processes
-
Lead the risk management agenda across the NAM Procurement team ensuring robust Risk Management Committee processes to minimize any risk to Diageo’s reputation.

Lead NAM internal audit plan, scoping, testing and remediation as required
Complexity of the Role:

This role supports Procurement across North America

Ensuring that the function consistently applies the Procurement processes, policies & standards and effectively leads risk and compliance across the function (run activity)

Recommending and referring improve opportunities to the Global R&G Manager to design and implement.

Partner with NAM Procurement team, senior leaders and executives to embed, run and maintain compliance and governance of Procurement’s processes.

Strong engagement and influencing skills required to ensure R&G and compliance is prioritized consistently across the function alongside learning and development of related policies, standards, systems, and processes.

Influence and coach, without direct accountability, NAM Procurement teams to achieve results, requiring excellent relationship management and communication skills.
Key Outputs:

Embed core R&G activities into key Procurement processes

Assure robust adherence of supplier continuity
-
Support internal and external audit requirements including control designs, process walkthroughs, audit documentation and testing. Facilitate all risk conversations and test finding discussions

Deliver Satisfactory results for Procurement audits: CARM, GAR & PwC
-
Ensure understanding and compliance by the NAM team to the Purchasing Policy, Statement of Authority, Code of Business Conduct, and other relevant governing documents

Develop the pipeline of L&D needs and implement activities for the NAM team, in collaboration with global

Assure utilization of the Procurement tools
Qualifications & Experience Required:
