The Team:
Datadog's Finance team works with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to grow as rapidly and efficiently as possible.
The Opportunity:
- Be part of a growing Procurement team at a high growth organization
- Spearhead the creation of Strategic Sourcing/Management processes that will be cascaded to the entire organization
- Manage the creation of internal procurement and management processes for our highest spend category, Technology
- Make an impact with these changes by ensuring Datadog is obtaining the best value with current and new vendors
You Will:
- Create and implement a Strategic Sourcing policy for high spend categories like Technology, SaaS, Construction, Office Operations, Marketing, etc. This includes building a documented, collaborative evaluation process; and developing action plans for upcoming renewal dates.
- Negotiate pricing and other business terms with vendors on net-new purchases and strategic, high spend renewals.
- Create pricing models based on vendor proposals to quantify various buying scenarios related to our future growth and current demand.
- Lead and influence vendor selection decisions (e.g. RFPs), pricing models, and negotiations to further mature Datadog’s vendor landscape and engagements.
- Collaborate with Procurement, IT and business stakeholders to identify and document all SaaS applications and subscriptions throughout the organization.
- Continually evaluate and monitor SaaS application inventory across the organization for optimal cost-effectiveness, including the elimination of application or cost-center redundancy. This includes the management of the usage and engagement/adoption of individual tools to ensure we are obtaining the best value.
- Lead teams to independently evaluate their best practices and adopt a value-driven mindset when purchasing on behalf of the organization.
You Have:
- A minimum of 5-7 years+ experience in supporting procurement in the following capacity:
- Strategic Sourcing
- Vendor Performance and Relationship Management
- Strong history of negotiated savings
- Extremely proficient at analyzing cost related to future growth and current demand
- Knowledge of SaaS products and other vendor types that impact privacy and security
- Involvement in developing and implementing strategic sourcing policies
- Ability to analyze and present complex vendor management optimization strategies and performance metrics
- Ability to work with internal business units on business cases for net new contracts and strategic renewals.
- Understanding of optimization levers such as demand management, consolidation, price negotiation, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree

- Experience with a SaaS management tool
- Experience in reviewing industry appropriate contract clauses for inclusion in savings opportunity analysis is a plus
- Experience with Coupa is a plus
- Experience at a high growth company is a plus
