ABOUT THE ROLE

As the go-to Senior People Business Partner for our technology departments, you'll play a pivotal role in aligning our People strategy with the unique needs of our engineering, product, and design teams. Your work will ensure that our tech talents are engaged, motivated, and fully equipped to innovate at their best. You will play a crucial role in developing and sustaining our high-performing culture as a strategic partner with your designated client group, and focus on fostering a consultative approach to help these teams achieve their missions. 

What you’ll be working on

  • Engagement and Program Management: You’ll be the technology team’s lead engagement guru that will keep them looped in and adopted to all of our programs, inspire high levels of participation, and maintain an elite team member experience. Measuring the effectiveness, pivoting when needed, and developing creative and new programs to keep pushing the boundaries of a people first approach. (Examples of programs: onboarding, engagement surveys, performance reviews, and so much more!)

  • Data and Analytics: You’ll create custom dashboards with all of our Organizational Health Metrics for the Technology leaders, as well as execute eNPS surveys.  Transparent communication of your analysis (what’s working and what’s not - and why) is where the fun really begins. You’ll devise needle moving action plans to optimize the output and scalability of the team.

  • Over-Communication: Our strategy can move and pivot fast - alignment is critical to achieve results at the velocity that we want. Establishing regular methods and frequencies of communication is imperative. We believe in full transparency cascading from the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) - this means all things from company wins, headwinds, new strategic initiatives, program launches and cycles, results, and team changes throughout the company.

  • Feedback Loops: We’re a Remote First company - consistently seeking and providing feedback is a deal breaker. You’ll flex your creative muscles to constantly iterate on feedback programs that may include roundtables, polls/surveys, 1:1 meetings, team meetings, and more. Your role is integral to laddering up voices of the Tech teams and providing feedback to them in a multitude of ways.

  • Performance Management: Our people are everything. They make us or break us. Building up levels of accountability and acumen for managers to reach peak levels of effectiveness is how we win. Our teams are owed meaningful coaching, feedback, clarity of expectations, and the most vivid picture imaginable of what success looks like if their roles (think ‘Starry Night’ - like that kind of vivid). Optimizing our growth matrices, creating a strong bias for documentation, and advocating for skill growth is how you win.

  • People Program Alignment: A core part of how you’ll comprehensively execute in this role is partnering with your peers on the People Team - mainly Total Rewards and Talent Acquisition. Keeping “team member experience" at the center of all workflows, processes, and programs will be paramount in keeping Procurify at the top of our game.

  • Knowledge and Information Champion: There are a million moving data points on a team - levels, reporting lines, promotions, increases, leaves of absence, personal information changes, and so much more! We’re as good as the data we have - so you’ll be the point of contact for the tech team to make sure their data is accurate and up to date at all times.

  • Conflict Resolution: Even in the best of times - people are messy and shit happens. You’ll be the lead to manage when/if conflict arises in regards to performance, disagreements with management, scope of roles, team member/peer issues, lack of communication or recognition.

  • Strategic Contributions and Mentoring: Playing a key role in our long term strategic planning is a core piece of this role, as is coaching and mentoring the Business Partner function for us to scale and grow cohesively as a team. You’ll participate in the creations and iterations of our People Team playbooks and our workforce planning. 

Who we’re looking for 

  • You have 5+ years of experience in People Operations, with a significant portion working closely with technology teams (engineering, product, design).

  • You're well-versed in the unique dynamics and challenges of tech environments and are passionate about finding People solutions that support innovation and creativity.

  • You possess a strong understanding of talent management, especially in the context of high-growth tech or SaaS companies.

  • You're an exceptional communicator and collaborator, able to build trust and rapport with tech leaders and team members alike.

  • You love to ‘work in the grey' and find creative solutions to complex problems.

  • You have previously thrived in a Remote First environment and can show the bias for documentation to prove it. 

  • You have up to date knowledge of employment law and know when / how to escalate to legal experts. 

  • You're proactive, independent, and thrive in dynamic environments, bringing a high level of strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to the table.

  • You're passionate about leveraging your People expertise to enhance the performance and overall effectiveness of technology teams.

  • Base Salary Range: $72,000 - $100,000 CAD (This range is dependent on experience and not inclusive of any bonus, commission, benefits or equity that might exist in your total compensation package.)
