Where You'll Come In

The Farmer's Dog is looking for a Product Design Lead to join our growing Product Design function.

As a Product Design Lead, you will provide the vision and execution of the user experience for some of our most exciting new initiatives in the pet health care space. You'll need to dive deeply and enthusiastically into the needs of our customers, vets, and business goals — then apply your passion and skill for crafting highly usable end-to-end experiences to not only meet our product needs, but also deliver joy to our end users.

Our ideal candidate is highly user-centric, detailed, collaborative, and open to feedback; equally comfortable working as an independent contributor as mentoring other junior designers, as if you were running a small start up of your own. Cross-functional work with Engineering, Growth, and Product will be central — so experience with subscription products and mixed analog-digital experience is desired. You should not only be able to deliver outstanding and innovative solutions for UX strategy and execution, but always seek out opportunities to go above and beyond, and put forth unique and exciting visions.

At a glance, you will be responsible for driving user research, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity visual design, prototypes, user testing, and conducting workshops.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Collaborate with product managers, brand, engineers, and other stakeholders to drive projects forward.
• Guide the overall strategy and decision-making about product direction.
• Work closely with engineers to ensure a high-quality implementation
• Be the design owner for a pod and coordinate with partners across the company to define and implement standard methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with counterparts in product and engineering to define the product experience strategy and vision for the product.
• Facilitate activities to gather insights on user needs and goals and conduct user research.

We're Excited About You Because

• You have 7+ years experience in product design, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
• You have a passion for tackling complex problems and designing elegant, simple solutions that surprise and delight users.
• You are skilled in tools such as Figma.
• You're passionate about designing experiences from start to finish.
• You have a strong entrepreneurial drive and bias towards action.
• You're able to function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.
• You approach things holistically and you enjoy the challenge of a big system.

Office guidelines

The office is open and available for all Monday through Friday. We ask all team members to be in office a minimum of 2-3 days a week to build a collaborative and invested environment to foster our unique in-person culture we are proud to have. This office policy is subject to change at company discretion.

We commit to building a competitive compensation package and company environment for all individuals to thrive. We believe in competitive base compensation rooted in location specific market data and performance along with equity ownership in the company that allows every team member to build their personal wealth as the company grows, just as much as we believe in fostering a culture that supports our team members personally, professionally, and holistically. For this role the anticipated hiring base compensation range is $138,000 - $160,000 USD Annual and the compensation offered will include a robust market competitive package of base and equity. In addition to your base compensation offer you will also receive equity ownership in the company. More information about the value of this equity will be shared at the time of offer. This range is representative of NYC Market Data if you are applying to this role outside of the NYC area the range may change.
